DTV Tips

Go Ahead — Try Digital!

If you have recently purchased a digital-to-analog converter box, don’t wait until February 2009 to use it. Try it now! Western Reserve Public Media is broadcasting simultaneously in analog and digital. Once you connect the converter box, follow the set up instructions and scan for channels. You should be able to receive our digital signal. You can use your channel up or down button on the remote or use the numbers to find the channel.

Since June 26, 2007, Western Reserve Public Media has been “multicasting.” We offer high-definition channels 45.1/49.1 and standard-definition channels 45.2/49.2. If you have a television with a digital tuner or a digital-to-analog converter box, you should be able to see and hear both of our channels clearly.

Once you have your digital television or digital-to-analog converter box working, it would be a good idea to occasionally re-scan for new channels, as more stations will start to broadcast digitally. You can access this through the main menu.

If you have any questions regarding the DTV transition, leave a message at the Western Reserve Public Media DTV Help Desk at 1-877-DTV-4PBS or e-mail .
