A Doo Wop Celebration
II!
Western Reserve Public Media and The
Kent Stage hosted A Doo Wop Celebration II
featuring Carl Gardner’s The Coasters,
The Chiffons and The Reflections on Saturday,
May 10, 2008. These great doo wop groups
gave us “Yakety Yak,” “Charlie
Brown,” “He’s So Fine,” “Romeo
and Juliet” and many more memorable
hits.

Local Winners of 14th Annual Reading Rainbow Writing
Contest
Western Reserve Public Media announced
the local winners in the kindergarten, first,
second and third grade categories of the Reading
Rainbow 14th Annual Young Writers and Illustrators
Contest. The winners were announced on Saturday,
April 5, 2008, at two sites: the Western Reserve Public Media/Summit
Mall Family Expo in Akron and the Youngstown
Book Fair at Fellows Riverside Gardens.
