Free Film Previews of The War
Western Reserve Public Media presents two film previews
of Ken Burns’ epic documentary, The War.
Enjoy a one-hour preview of the seven-part miniseries, which
examines World War II through the personal accounts of men
and women from four American towns. Following each preview,
the station will present excerpts of community members’
videotaped oral histories that feature northeast Ohioans’
recollections of World War II. The events will be held as
follows, with refreshments at 6:30 p.m. and the film preview
at 7 p.m.:
Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007: Akron-Summit
County Public Library, 60 South High St., Akron
Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007: Butler Institute
of American Art, 524 Wick Ave., Youngstown
