Many school districts in Ohio
continually face tight budgets and failed levies. They combat
this problem by cutting programs, instituting pay-to-play
sports and downsizing the amount of faculty and staff.
In Wayne County, Orrville and
Rittman school districts are trying a new strategy. They
are forming an administrative compact where they will share
some administrative positions, starting with the superintendent.
Jon Ritchie, superintendent of
Orrville schools, will absorb the duties of retiring Rittman
superintendent Butch Ullman for the 2007-2008 school year.
NewsNight Akron reports on the new initiative.
